Kate Pedersen is a commercial barrister with a wide-ranging litigation practice.
Kate was admitted in 2007 and was previously an Assistant State Solicitor in the counsel team at the State Solicitor’s Office. Since admission, she has engaged in a broad range of counsel work, appearing in the State Administrative Tribunal, the Magistrates, District, Supreme, Federal and High Courts. She has particular specialty in regulatory crime, including complex prosecutions relating to fatal accidents in workplaces (and mine sites).
Kate has also acted in an extensive range of matters, including arbitrations, contractual disputes, Royal Commissions, coronial inquests, single judge appeals, and civil litigation in the Supreme Court. She has trial and appellate counsel experience.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Western Australia (Hons) and a Masters in Law from the University of Melbourne.
